About Us

Welcome!

Pack 113 serves children in Kindergarten through 5th grade in San Clemente, CA.  Our pack meets at Vista Del Mar Elementary and Truman Benedict Elementary School and typically has around 30-50 scouts who are divided into dens of 5-8 scouts, based on their grade.  We welcome scouts from all schools and currently have scouts from most San Clemente schools.  Our pack is chartered by the Kiwanis Club of San Clemente and the pack is non-denominational.

Pack 113's primary focus is to work with you to build your child's character and come alongside to create a strong family unit.  In addition to character, our cub scout program includes emphasis on...

  • Attitudes of good citizenship and love of our country
  • Personal achievement and encouraging scouts to always do their best
  • Leadership development
  • Love for the outdoors
  • Outdoor skills such as BB guns and archery
  • Personal fitness
  • Beginnings of self reliance
  • Strengthening the scouts’ ability to get along with others and respect adults
  • Good old fashioned fun

Your scouts will be involved in the same events many of you former scouts may fondly remember, such as the Raingutter Regatta, Blue and Gold Banquet and the Pinewood Derby.

Lion Scouts (Kindergarten) will work with their families and den to complete achievements and outings, encouraging a strong family unit and getting an introduction to the scouting world.  This is a new program that began in 2016.

Tiger scouts (1st grade) will work with their families and den to complete achievements and outings, encouraging a strong family unit.
Wolf scouts (2nd grade) continue to learn more scout skills as they follow their achievement trail with their families and den.
Bear scouts (3rd grade) continue to learn new things, but also start to take their scout skills and begin to become more self-reliant.
Webelos scouts (4th and 5th grades) spend 18 months earning scout achievement pins that bridge the gap between Cub Scouts and Boy Scout skills.

Dens (your scout's core group of 6-8 boys or 6-8 girls (no dens are co-ed) meet together twice a month, typically once as a meeting and once as an outing.  Days and times vary for each den.  We have a monthly pack meeting with all of the scouts on the third Thursday of every month in the evening.  Our pack also provides at least one optional pack outing per month, which typically are family events on the weekend.

In summary, Pack 113 wants nothing more than to work together with parents towards turning scouts into capable, respectful young adults by developing their character, citizenship, personal fitness, and having lots of fun and adventure in the process!
